Jumped 1.30m :)

So today i jumped 1.30m

1.30m is the higest showjumping level for a junior competitior.
Jumping this hight in a competition with a course of 10-14 jumps is called A grade.
When competing in 1.30m you can make the open showjumping team to represent Western Province or whatever province belong to at South African Junior Championships which is held at a diffrent venue every year.

Each team is slecected on your performace during the year.
The provinsal selectors choose a team of 5 riders, one being a reserve.

Each rider works very hard each year to get a good track record for the team selection before champs.

What Showjumping is about..

Show Jumping is a competition that combines a horse and rider combination.
It tests the ability and skills of a horse and its rider over a various number of obstacles under various conditions.

SA showjumping clearly states that, " It is a test intended to demonstrate the horse’s freedom, its
energy, its skill, its speed and its obedience in jumping and the Athlete’s horsemanship."

If a horse or athlete makes a mistake such as knocking down a jump, refusing or going over the time limit ect ect results in them receiving penalties. 3x refusals or a fall results in a elimination. The winner of the competition is the competitor who ends of with the least amount of penalties ,the fastest time or the person with the highest points depending on the competition.
